So many women have come to MAURY completely terrified of the men they married. They told MAURY that their husbands controlled their every move â€"" what they wore, who they could talk to, even what food they ate. Some of the men were also violent and struck their wives often. The abused wives said they still loved their husbands despite the way they treated them and they were desperate to make their marriages work.
