Episode 1

2007: While the elderly George Reeckmans is dying, his wife Helena begs him to reveal how his best friend, Alfred, died during World War II, a secret only he knows the truth of. However he dies, taking the knowledge into his grave. 1939: Two young friends, George and Alfred, vie for the attention of the beautiful Helena, the daughter of a local expert gin distiller.
