After having spent all their lives apart, two childhood friends, widowed and elderly, meet again in the village where they grew up in. While trying to solve past disagreements, they deal with the decision their relatives made to put them in a nursing home. Knowing they are at the end of their lives, the two friends try hard to keep their old promise to stay together forever.
