Fallen licensee Eric has a proposition to offer Tricia, who's trying to fund a bid to buy The Woolpack. While Bernice is forced to lie to Gavin about her attempts to borrow money for a rival take-over. Betty and Marlon feel the sharp end of Biff's tongue after persuading him to make a public proposal to Kathy. And with money troubles on his mind - Jack is furious with Sarah when she agrees to let the boys go on a school trip to France.
