Set in 1944 Poland, a Jewish shopkeeper is caught out after curfew and brought to ghetto headquarters while waiting for a German officer. During the wait, he overhears a radio broadcast about Russian troop movements, and shares it—sparking rumours of a hidden radio and a flood of hopeful stories.
