During the Cuban Missile Crisis, a flashy movie promoter rolls into a small Florida town with a bargain-basement monster film and turns its premiere into an over-the-top event using in-theater stunts, props, and rubber-suit scares. As nerves run high outside the theater, the show offers locals—especially kids—a funny, nostalgic escape from real-world anxiety.
