As Allied forces liberated Nazi concentration camps in 1944–45, their discoveries were captured by army and newsreel cameramen, building an undeniable visual record of what happened. Using footage from British, Soviet, and American sources, the project was commissioned to preserve evidence for the future, but was shelved and later restored and completed decades on.
