Captured by smugglers as a tiny macaw, Blu grows up flightless and happily domesticated with his human friend in Minnesota. When word spreads about a lone female macaw in Rio de Janeiro, they travel to find her, only to be targeted by bird smugglers and pushed into a dangerous escape and adventure.
