During an unusual winter heatwave in Taipei, a young boy with a vivid imagination watches his divorced mother struggle to keep their life afloat as money gets tighter. Seeing her as a worn-out robot in need of an upgrade, he tries to make sense of home and school while his troubling drawings raise concern.
