Set shortly after World War II in Siberia, a battered Soviet train engineer is sent to a labor camp where unsettling losses and survival collide among Russians and Germans. As a steam locomotive becomes central, speed and desperate competition blur the line between people and machines, with a disturbing sense of roles reversing.
