After World War I, a tight-knit group of American pilots avoids going home and drifts through Paris nightlife, trying to outrun what the war left behind. They befriend a wealthy, eccentric young woman and an unwelcome tagalong, and the group’s bar-hopping journey from Paris to Lisbon tests their fragile sense of escape and camaraderie.
