During World War II, a severe housing shortage leads a responsible young woman in Washington, D.C., to rent part of her apartment. Instead of the expected female tenant, she gets a mischievous older man, who secretly brings in a young lodger and sets up a lively mix of cramped living, misunderstandings, comedy, and romance.
