In turn-of-the-century Mississippi, an 11-year-old is pulled into trouble when two mischievous older companions convince him to “borrow” the family’s new automobile for a trip to Memphis. The getaway turns into a string of muddy misadventures, risky lessons, and moral wake-up calls that push him toward growing up fast.
