In 1851 California, a man needs women to help his community grow, so he organizes a long wagon journey west with a caravan of mail-order brides. He hires a hard, cynical guide to lead them across dangerous frontier conditions, but the trip forces him to rethink what these women can endure—and how strong they really are.
