A naive young sailor heads to his first naval posting, only to have his identity stolen and end up stuck doing the lowest jobs aboard ship. As a disguised impostor takes his place, the voyage turns into a swirl of misunderstandings, mutiny talk, and over-the-top seafaring trouble.
