Despite its intimidating runtime, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning chugs along pretty quickly. McQuarrie seems to be referencing the visual style of DePalma’s first installment of canted angles and dark alleys, which is a nice throwback. The AI premise isn’t as dull as it seems, and great sequences like the climactic train scene put this in the better half of the franchise. 🚂🚂🚂.5 / 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂.
