"There’s been a flurry of coming of age stories based on the childhood experiences of several prominent filmmakers recently, including Roma, Belfast and The Fablemans. Armageddon Time is one of the more successful of those works because it’s not overly sentimental or saccharine and is anchored by some fantastic performances from Hopkins, Repeta and Webb.
