A young Bronx man leaves behind familiar streets to serve in Vietnam, then returns home struggling with family responsibilities, limited opportunities, and the lasting effects of war. As life becomes increasingly difficult, he reconnects with fellow veterans and is drawn toward planning a dangerous armored-car robbery.
