Leigh Whannell was tasked with a tall order when asked to update Wolf Man, after delivering a clever and biting contemporary take on The Invisible Man in 2020. Wolf Man isn’t as good as its preceding Universal Monster movie, but it’s not bad either. Whannell has a pretty good grasp on the tragic melodrama that these stories have always been. A pretty well done POV of Blake’s unraveling at different points in the movie is pretty heartbreaking and sticks to the ribs. However, it also feels like this movie should be more fun. This is Wolf Man after all. 🐺🐺🐺 / 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺.
