In Northern Norway in 1979, a new elementary school teacher tries hard to blend in by hiding her Indigenous background and laughing along with cruel jokes. When she visits a riverside protest camp opposing a dam, she begins to see how the fight is also about dignity, identity, and standing up to long-standing discrimination.
