In June 1944, a cautious soldier works at a fake British base, moving pretend troops to mislead the enemy while his family expects heroic sacrifice. After a boozy night with a doctor who dreams of joining the action, the pair set off to take part in the landings—only to realize they may have the wrong plan entirely.
