I gave Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four another shot in preparation for the MCU’s take on the property. It was not only as disappointing as I remembered, but worse. The first Spielberg inspired opening act mostly works, and a scene of Doom roaming some corridors causing chaos is fantastically vicious, but that’s about all I can standby on this take of Marvel’s first family. What is delivered seems meant to be taken as grounded, but it comes across as boring and unsatisfying. Four / 10.
