A middle-aged man, stuck in a numb routine, secretly joins a trial for a new antidepressant in hopes of feeling like himself again. When the study is halted over dangerous side effects, he keeps taking the pills anyway, and his buried anger and impulses begin to surface in increasingly alarming ways.
