I’m slightly higher on the 1934 version of Imitation of Life. Perhaps because Lora making it big on Broadway isn’t as interesting and Lora and Annie building a pancake empire, or maybe because the larger 1950s performances come off a bit false. However, Susan Kohner is great in this and her storyline does pack a bigger emotional punch by the time the credits roll. 🎭🎭🎭.5 / 🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭.
