Jumanji is a pretty successful piece of blockbuster entertainment, although not without its faults. Perhaps the most glaring piece of tonal mismanagement in this is Carl’s tragic backstory - it’s pretty effective, until the movie shifts to present day, to use him as comic relief. 🦏🦏🦏.5 / 🦏🦏🦏🦏🦏.
