The cast is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this straight-to-Netflix rom com. My big gripes with Voicemails for Isabelle is that it’s high on melodrama, and wants to offer up something that’s more than a rom com without doing any of the work. And it never helps when a key scene of our two romantic leads is set at a bench with a scenic overlook, in this case the Golden Gate Bridge, and it’s just shot in front of a green screen. Those are the moments when on location shooting matters. 📱📱.5 / 📱📱📱📱📱.
