It’s week 4 of the 1994 school year at St. Roman High and 5'2 freshman Pete Hickey hasn’t had much success in any field. But thanks to a miraculous series of events, things might be looking up. No pressure.

Pete joins the student newspaper in the hopes of impressing Alex and things are looking good until he’s assigned to write an article on the boys’ soccer team... Former 90210 heartthrob Jason Priestley chimes in with the play-by-play call on Pete’s sad attempts to make headway with his crush.

Over the years, Pete’s brother Mike has managed to call “dibs” on everything worthwhile in the Hickey house. But when the perpetually under construction basement is “finished”, Pete sees his chance and calls “dibs”.
